Waggin' Trail Adventures is a new group that organizes and leads day hikes for people and their dogs in and around the GTA.  Membership is open to anyone wishing to participate.

You don't have a dog ... that's ok - you're still welcome to come out and join the company of others who enjoy the outdoors!

Hikes are relatively easy paced and last between 2 -3 hours.  You don't need to be an athlete to participate, but owners and their dogs should be in good physical condition and able to endure 2 - 3 hour walks.  Hikes will take place in parks and some conservation areas in and around the GTA.

At the halfway point, we'll stop for a break to let the dogs have some water and cookies (cookies will be supplied).  Bring along a drink and snack for yourself and munch away while we socialize for a bit and get to know one another.

Lots of reasons to come out  . . . .

Come out and enjoy some fresh air and exercise with your K9 companion.  (Your dog will love you for it!);
Enjoy the company of other dog-lovers;
Share your favorite trick - seek or pass on some doggie advice;
Meet new people with at least two similar interests ... dogs and the outdoors;
Attention all 'singles' - here's a chance to perhaps meet that special someone!

Although an emergency is not something that is anticipated, it can strike without warning.  As the leader of the group, I am certified in both human emergency first aid and CPR as well as animal emergency first aid and CPR.  A cell phone is also carried at all times.

Hikes will be cancelled in the event of severe or dangerous weather conditions, or if weather conditions make hiking conditions harazardous or extremely unpleasant.  All confirmed participants will be contacted the morning of the hike, in the event of a cancellation.
